About Ce Marking

CE Marking is a confirmatory mark that is imperative to have on products in the European Economic Area. This marking certifies that the product has met EU Consumer Standards related to Safety, Environment and Health. CE stands for ‘European Conformity’, Conformity Europeans in French. This certification is as good as its contemporaries like the GMP Certifications and Environmental Management System Certification. 27 Countries in the European Union ought to have this certification and there are some others that come in this list lying in the European Free Trade Area and European Economic Area. The proximity between the markets and other bilateral trade agreements have made it necessary to have this marking in place that ensures the highest order of legitimacy.

In certain European countries, the CE Marking is associated with certain standards. The marking is held along the lines of the ISO 14001 Certification Bodies and is conducted through Internal Auditor Training. The manufacturers have to declare conformity and subsequently sign the ‘Declaration of Conformity’. The CE Mark is affixed on the product post which the product is fully ready to be released in the markets. There are a few steps to follow that guarantee the marking which include identifying Directives, Conformity Modules, Standards, Testing of Samples, Compilation of Technical Documentation, Signing the Declaration of Conformity and having the mark affixed.

The requirements have been set out by European Directives and without the DoC, the manufacturer will not be provided the CE Marking. The DoC ensures that the manufacturer attests conformity through NADs and is accountable for the product legally. The NAD at times is issued by ISO 14001 Certification Bodies for performance verification of the product. The marking, whose enormity is tantamount to that of other certifications such as the GMP Certifications and the Environment Management System Certification, only gets issued when manufacturer details are mentioned clearly in the DoC. The Internal Auditor Training program ensures that the auditing is done thoroughly before the marking is issued and that the product being bestowed with this marking is in compliance with all the specifications mentioned.

The marking is one big deal all across the Europe especially in the consumer goods industry. Every product without this mark is completely looked down upon and is thought of consumers as the condemned. The product sold in the consumer goods market ought to have this marking which serves as a moral and legal assurance to the consumer that the product is all right and serves good quality. The products with this mark are bona fide and said to represent the highest standards of quality and performance. The marking is very notorious across the EU and its importance is something very similar to the sorts of the 9001 and 14001 ISO markings. As they represent the highest standard of quality control management and environment, this one is all about product quality within the EU. Companies find this mark very critical and throng over each other to ensure that all their products have this marking in place.
