Do you have a link for this proposal on redefining our compliance? Not that I doubt it exists, just that I hadn’t heard about it and I’d like to read up on it.

Edit: Thanks TxSup for pointing the article out to me. I stand firmly against any attempts to redefine or modify our compliance with the Geneva Convention – after all, if we expect other nations to follow it, we have to as well, especially in our position as world leaders. However, the key word there is “nations”. The Geneva Convention doesn’t cover such entities as terrorist networks, which don’t fight under any nation’s flag.

Having said that, I still believe we ought to take the high road as much as possible when dealing with terrorism suspects. As has been pointed out to me before, the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment applies to anyone under US jurisdiction, which would include those in our custody.
